What MGL actually does — cargo line by cargo line.

Maize and rice are sourced from Tunduma, Shinyanga, and Mbeya — three of Tanzania's key grain-growing regions — alongside beans from the same belt. Every batch is graded, cleaned, and bagged or bulk-loaded before it leaves for export, whether that's overland by MGL truck or by sea through Dar es Salaam.

Pine and eucalyptus are grown, harvested, and processed on MGL's own plantation in Iringa. Timber is exported as both sawn lumber and round log, tracked from the stand to the shipment that carries it out.

MGL owns and operates Vuna Marketplace, an agricultural e-commerce platform that lets farmers and buyers trade directly — the same principle behind our own export desk, built into software.

MGL runs its own fleet of trucks, moving cargo overland across Tanzania and into neighbouring countries, as well as down to Dar es Salaam for sea freight. The fleet also hauls freight for outside clients — not just MGL's own cargo.
